Covidedsc started as a COVID-19 site. It's now a public-health education publication for South Carolina, covering the whole respiratory season.
Why we're here
Between 2020 and 2023, health guidance changed fast, and a lot of what was written then is still online without a date on it. People in Horry County search for isolation rules and land on advice from three seasons ago. We think that's a real problem, and a fixable one. Our answer is simple: every time-sensitive page shows when it was last checked, who issued the guidance, and what changed.
Who it's for
Parents deciding whether a child with a cough can go to school. Adult children caring for a parent in Florence. Teachers, small-business owners and shift workers in Myrtle Beach and Greenville trying to figure out when someone can come back. And anyone who wants a straight explanation of a DPH dashboard without an agenda attached.

How articles are written and checked
- South Carolina claims come from the South Carolina Department of Public Health. National guidance comes from the CDC, FDA and other federal agencies, or established medical sources.
- We separate what's established, what's current guidance, what's emerging research and what's still uncertain, and we label each.
- We don't publish outbreak numbers we can't source, and we don't present anecdotes as evidence.
- When guidance changes, we update the article, note what changed and when, and move the "Checked" date.
- We don't diagnose, and we don't recommend prescription treatment. For that, see a clinician.
If you spot something outdated or wrong, send a correction. We read every one.
