Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 24, 2026. This policy explains what information Covidedsc ("we," "us") collects when you visit covidedsc.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

We don't ask you to create an account, and you can read every article without giving us anything. We collect information in three ways:

• Information you send us. If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject and message. If you sign up for our newsletter, the form provider receives the details you enter.
• Automatic information. Like most websites, our server and analytics tools record technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, referring site and time of visit.
• Cookies and similar technologies. Small files stored by your browser that help measure traffic and deliver ads.

We don't ask for health information, and we'd ask you not to send personal medical details through the contact form.

Cookies

Cookies help us understand which pages are useful and let our ad server show and count ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, though some ad and analytics features won't.

Google Analytics

We use or plan to use Google Analytics 4 to understand how readers use the site, such as which articles are read and how people arrive. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes data under Google's own privacy policy. You can opt out using Google's browser add-on for disabling Google Analytics.

Advertising and Revive Adserver

Ads on Covidedsc are served through Revive Adserver. The ad server may set cookies to limit how often you see the same ad and to count impressions and clicks. Advertisers don't receive your name or email from us. Ads don't appear on our legal pages.

Newsletter form provider

Our newsletter signup is embedded from a third-party form and CRM provider (Sphere CRM). When you submit that form, the provider stores the information you enter and processes it under its own terms. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of the message.

RSS headlines and third-party links

We show headlines from outside publishers such as KFF Health News and the CDC, and we link to other sites. When you follow a link, you leave Covidedsc, and that site's privacy policy applies. We're not responsible for how other sites handle your data.

How we use information

We use information to run and improve the site, answer messages, send newsletters you requested, measure traffic and serve ads. We don't sell your contact information.

Data retention

We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and keep reasonable records. Analytics and ad data are kept according to each provider's settings.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to certain processing.

• California residents (CCPA/CPRA) can request to know, delete or correct personal information and can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't discriminate against anyone for using these rights.
• Visitors from the EU, UK or EEA (GDPR) have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection, and may complain to their local data protection authority. Our legal bases are consent (for cookies where required), legitimate interests (running and securing the site) and contract (sending a newsletter you signed up for).

Children

Covidedsc is written for a general adult audience and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

We use HTTPS across the site and limit who can access submitted messages. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send sensitive information through the contact form.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
